Pre-order GTA 6 on Xbox Series X: pre-orders are open now

GTA 6 launches November 19, 2026 on Xbox Series X|S and PS5. If you play on Xbox, here is what to know to pre-order at the right time and pick the right edition, on Series X or Series S.

Pre-order status

As of October 3, 2026, the GTA 6 Xbox Series X|S boxed listing on Amazon.fr reads "currently unavailable", with no restock date (stock status). Digital pre-order is open on the Xbox Store.

What to do now:

• Open the GTA 6 listing on the Xbox Store and pre-order digitally
• Pre-orders have been open since June 25, 2026: pre-load opens November 12, release is November 19
• Pre-order or buy before November 20, 2026 and you get the Vintage Vice City Pack

GTA 6 price on Xbox Series X

Rockstar announced two editions on June 24, 2026, at $79.99 for Standard and $99.99 for Ultimate. On the French Xbox Store listing, they read 79.99 EUR and 99.99 EUR:

Both editions include the Vintage Vice City Pack for any pre-order or purchase before November 20, 2026. The specialist press reports that the Ultimate is digital only, and the French Xbox Store listing shows a 20 EUR upgrade from Standard. For full edition details, see our GTA 6 complete fact sheet.

Xbox Series X or Xbox Series S for GTA 6?

GTA 6 is announced for both models, and the Xbox Store listing is labeled "Optimized for Xbox Series X|S", with no resolution or frame-rate figure for either console. Console prices in Europe since August 1, 2026:

• Xbox Series X: 799.99 EUR with a 4K Blu-ray drive, 749.99 EUR Digital Edition. 1 TB SSD.
• Xbox Series S: 499.99 EUR, 512 GB SSD, no disc drive.

The boxed edition of GTA 6 is a download code with no disc (Amazon.fr listing: "Xbox Series X/S (Code en boîte)"). It works on a Series S as it does on a Series X, drive or not.

No official install size is published for GTA 6. With a 512 GB SSD, the Series S leaves less room than the Series X: clear space before pre-loading opens on November 12.

GTA 6 and Xbox Game Pass: the honest answer

The question keeps coming back: will GTA 6 be on Game Pass? GTA 6 has not been announced for Game Pass.

In 2023, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick said the publisher does not put its frontline titles on subscription services day and date ("We don't make our frontline titles available day and date"). That is a general statement, not an announcement about GTA 6. For reference, GTA V reached Game Pass on January 3, 2020, years after its 2013 release.

Buying the game, digital or boxed, is the only announced way to play on November 19, 2026.

What GTA 6 brings on Xbox Series X

Rockstar has published no tech sheet, and no performance data has been published for Xbox as of October 3, 2026. Here is what is documented:

• Native target: the Xbox Store listing is labeled "Optimized for Xbox Series X|S", so both Series X and Series S
• Rendering: the only published measurements, from Digital Foundry's independent analysis (August 28, 2026), cover the Extended Look captured on a base PS5 (1440p upscaled to 4K, 30 frames per second) and say nothing about Xbox

Xbox purchases and PC cross-buy

Rockstar has announced no PC version of GTA 6 and has said nothing about Xbox Play Anywhere. For now, an Xbox purchase, boxed or digital, only gets you the Xbox version.

Standard vs. Ultimate: which to pick?

The game comes in two editions, Standard and Ultimate, with no collector's edition of the game. On September 24, 2026, Rockstar did announce a merchandise collector's box, "The Goodtime State – Vice City Collection", sold without the game and available for pre-order while supplies last.
